pictures...finally.

This is going to be a long post. Just a warning.

First of all, Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband, my dad, and my father-in-law!
We were able to BBQ for a yummy father's day meal.
Here's another 3-generation pic to remember the day.

I want to post a couple of pictures that show just how much Lincoln wants to be like his daddy. A couple of days ago, we were standing out in the room that we are helping to remodel. Derick was leaning up against the wall, and Lincoln decided that he looked pretty cool and wanted to do it too.

He loves to wear Daddy's hats.

Ok, well these aren't Daddy's shoes. They are Papa's. But he likes to try on Daddy's too.

For Memorial Day, we went to the lake and had a picnic. It was super fun until Lincoln had a major blow-out. Thankfully I had packed his swimsuit, so I was able to change him.

Last weekend, Richie, Krystal and Graham came up. We had so much fun with them. On Saturday morning, we went to the zoo. The Prescott zoo is tiny...seriously tiny...but I had decided to get a membership b/c it's something that I can take Lincoln to do often. We went and looked at a few animals, and then came across a kiddie area with a petting zoo and huge sand area.

Here is Lincoln looking at the pigs. He was also fascinated by the goats and llamas.

playin' frisbee

There was a cute little girl there that was Lincoln's age and he loved playing in the sand with her.

As we were heading out of the zoo, we came across a tiny little splash pad! I was so excited because there aren't a lot of fun water options around here. The only splash pad in the whole area is really expensive to even get into (those of you in the valley have the benefit of millions of FREE splash pads...and thank goodness...you'd die down there without them). Since I got the zoo pass, I will be able to take Lincoln to play anytime. He was so excited when he saw it. He loves to play in water. I didn't know it was there and therefore didn't bring his swimsuit, so he just played in his clothes and loved it.

Richie and cute Graham chillin' in the shade.

After the zoo, we walked around downtown b/c they had a bunch of booths set up. Then we ate lunch at Kendall's, which was NOT good, but oh, well. Actually the onion rings were good. That's all they have going for them. The caramel apple we bought from a vendor later made up for it.

Lincoln got a little bit jealous whenever we would hold Graham. Lincoln decided that he wanted to sit with Daddy when Graham was with Daddy.

Lincoln also decided that he wanted to use the baby swing. He loved that thing. He kept admiring it, and then all of a sudden he just decided to sit in it and this is what we saw. I couldn't stop laughing.

We have gone up to Derick's family cabin a couple of times recently, and one afternoon we decided to take Lincoln to the nearby lake. The kid seriously has NO fear. He went up to the water and walked right into it as if it was a totally normal thing to do!
Derick had to hurry and grab him before it dropped off!
This was Lincoln's face when Derick grabbed him out. I think he was partially disappointed, but he also got a little scared when Derick grabbed him out so quickly.

Whew! I could probably put more pictures, but I am on the laptop and don't like using it much. But that's pretty much what we've been up to lately!

I just realized that I'm not in a single picture, but someone has to take them, right??

i broke my husband's nose

I really did.

The other night, we (us and Derick's parents) were turning on a movie. I was going over to sit on the couch next to Derick, but he sprawled out so that I couldn't sit down, just trying to be funny. I decided that I was going to sit on top of him. As I was going down, Derick came up, and my forehead hit his face. We all heard a loud crack, and Derick immediately grabbed his face and put it into the pillow. I was terrified. It was super traumatizing. At first we didn't know if it was his nose or his teeth (thank goodness it wasn't his teeth because crowns are not cheap!). We figured out that it was his nose. Thankfully he doesn't have any external bruising, but you can definitely tell that his nose is broken when you feel it.

I am really sorry, Babe. But it's half your fault! :-)

On another note, I haven't been posting any pictures lately b/c our desktop computer is still not set up (due to renovations) and I hate using laptops. I have tons of pictures though. I will try to get them up soon.

just a quick note...

I haven't been blogging. I know. But I have some good excuses. We are staying with Derick's parents, and we are helping them to remodel. The room that we are working on is going to be the guest room/our room for now, and then the old bedroom is becoming the office. Because of the demo, painting, moving furniture, etc. we had to take down our computer and undo the cable and internet. So I didn't have internet for a while and although my iPhone is wonderful, it's not great for blogging.

Anyway, we are doing great. Derick started school this week. Have I given an update on what he is going into? I can't remember so I will now. Sorry if you have already heard it. We were really feeling discouraged after Derick lost his job in Utah (which was nothing having to do with him, by the way). He has been unsure of what he wanted to do. He was pretty set on getting an MBA or getting another Master's degree (and he even got accepted to Georgetown for their Master's in Sports Management), but it just didn't feel right. For various reasons, he just wanted to get out of the business world. One thing that he has really always wanted to do is become a physical therapist. He has worked in PT offices before and loved it, but steered away from going into it several years back. Within the last month or two, the idea has resurfaced and he got so excited about doing it. I think we both are excited. So that's what we are doing. Derick is taking the next year to finish up some sciences, and then he should start PT school next summer. It's going to be 4 more years of school, but it's going to be worth it if it's going to make him happy and it will be a steady career. Plus, when we look back in 20 years, 4 years won't seem like a long time.

Derick was also offered a job with another sports technology company based out of Philadelphia. They are going to let him work from home (yeah!) which will allow him to finish up his schooling. So he will do that just for this next year, because he won't be able to work while he is in PT school.

So that's what is going on with us. We are excited. Lincoln and I are just hanging out and having fun. We have had lots of family visitors lately and he loves playing with everyone. He is now over 15 months and is SO fun. He is learning to do new things all the time and is saying so many words.

Words:
That
What's that?
Oh, wow! (my favorite!)
Da (Dad)
Mama
Ball
Outside
DaDa (Papa)
No
Yeah
Yes
Uh-Oh (my other favorite)
Dee Dee (his cousin)
Juice
Thank You
Dog
bye-bye
nigh-night
hiiiiii (yes, he says hi all drawn out like that. too cute.)
down
yum yum
dip dip dip (when he dips something into ketchup)

I know that there are more but I can't think of them.

It was so cute yesterday...he came up to me and it was like he was saying, "Mom, come help me!" So I asked him to show me and I followed him back into the bedroom. He knelt down on the floor and looked under his bed. His cup of milk had rolled under there so I got it out for him and then he was happy. It was so cute how he came to me for help like that.

He loves to dance and sing.
He loves to play with anything with wheels.
Lately, he will put a blanket or towel or shirt or anything else like that over his head/face and will walk around blindly just bumping into things. He thinks it's so funny.
He also gets a kick out of himself lately. When he thinks that he's being funny, he will throw his head back and smile/laugh.
He also loves playing with water. The other day, Derick took out the hose and shot it up in the air. Lincoln loved running through the water as it fell down. I think he thought he was back at the splash park. A couple of days later, Derick had a spray bottle and sprayed Lincoln with it. He loved it. He just kept wanting to be sprayed in the face with it! A spray bottle! What a goof ball.
He also doesn't really walk anywhere. He runs.
And he is super duper independent. He wants to do everything himself.
He is such a happy little boy.
We just love him to pieces.

The poor little guy is actually not feeling well today and has a temperature. I hope that doesn't last too long.
