some fun pictures {I think so, at least}

Lincoln helped me make cinnamon rolls the other day!

Papa caught a horny toad and helped Lincoln hold it.

Lincoln thought it was so funny when he stuck a raspberry on his finger. He kept giggling at himself and was so excited to show it to me.

We get a kick out of discovering where Lincoln leaves all of his treasures throughout the day. On this particular occasion, he decided that hid Daddy's foot was good spot.

I have recently been doing some canning (it's so fun) and made about 36 jars of raspberry and strawberry jam! Thanks to my friend Jenny and her mom, I now have dozens of pounds of apples waiting for me too!

Lincoln looks sad here, but it's just because he had just woken up. We got doughnuts one day while we were in the valley for the drive back up to Prescott. This is what Lincoln looked like after eating his.

Prescott has the BEST yard sales ever. We have gotten some amazing things. While this was not a particularly fantastic day, we got a couple of hilarious things. What was even more hilarious was how we had to transport this boat sandbox back to the house.

One rummage sale that we went to a few weeks ago was fabulously successful for us. We got a box FULL of lots of different things. One of those things was this huge pile of fabric. Considering the number of things in our box, and the fact that we only paid $5 for it when it is all worth over $100, I consider this fabric to be basically free. I have been using it to make some Fall crafts, which I will post later. I get a little giddy when I see a "free" pile of fabric.

A couple of weeks ago, we went to a Yavapai College soccer game. It was fun, even though I didn't really get to watch it because I was chasing LIncoln the whole time!

I reversed the view of the camera on my iPhone so that we could see ourselves when taking pictures of ourselves. Lincoln thought it was so cool.

apples

Fall is here! Which means that apples are on sale. We, therefore, have been enjoying some the last couple of days. Lincoln LOVES apples, and I am happy that he has more teeth now and can handle chewing them. Derick caught this hilarious picture of Lincoln after he dipped his apple slice into the Nutella jar, and shoved the entire thing in his mouth. I crack up every time I look at how full his mouth is. He sure loved it, though!

{Oh, and yes, Lincoln does have a black eye. He crashed and burned in the living room the other day. He is quite the active 19-month-old and accidents are becoming more frequent!}

family visit

I have a ton of catching up to do. I promise it will come!

A few weeks ago, we traveled down to Tucson and St. David to visit some of Derick's family. We had such a fun time!

Our first stop was Dustin and Meagan's new (and super nice!) house. Dustin is Derick's nephew, and is only 15 months younger than Derick. He and Meagan have Mikayla, who is only one month older than Lincoln. It was so fun to get them together. It had been a year since we had seen these guys!

I love these pictures of Mikayla and Lincoln playing in the mud! (Thanks, Meagan, for capturing these moments for me. Even if I hadn't been sleeping while this was happening, I probably still wouldn't have gotten pictures!)

They read lots of books with Grammy and Papa. In this first picture you can kind of see Lincoln's fat lip that he had at the time.

They loved riding around in this box together! How cute is that!?!?

We all went out to a Mexican lunch one day. Lincoln and Mikayla went crazy for the mild salsa (which was basically like tomato paste). They loved it! Lincoln was sticking his whole hand into it and eating it by the fist full!

Down in St. David, Lincoln got to "ride" the tractor (his FAVORITE!!).

nigh-night

A few nights ago, we were watching the Republican debate. We had to pause it for a few minutes for something, and this is the screen shot that Derick just-so-happened to pause it on:

Lincoln looked up and pointed at the screen and said, "Nigh-night." He says this for anyone with eyes closed. ha ha ha. Love that kid!

what to do with leftover felt?

Sorry, the picture isn't the best. But isn't it cute? I bought the pattern here. I love all of her patterns and will probably be making more. The best part is that I had most of the felt leftover from the quiet book, and had to purchase very few other things to complete this! I was so excited to make it because I love nativities and I wanted one that Lincoln could touch when we teach him about Christmas. Love it.

anniversary

Yesterday was our 4 year anniversary! Derick and I can't believe it has been 4 years! We had a fun day. Derick went out and got us some doughnuts for breakfast (our favorite...I know, we're healthy) We are doughnut snobs too. We are picky about which ones we will eat...I don't like any from grocery stores. They have to be from a bakery or something. We found a yummy doughnut place in Prescott. Just look at them. They were delish.

Later, Derick's mom watched Lincoln while we went out to dinner. It was so nice to get out, just the two of us. It's something that we haven't been able to do in a LONG time. We went to a restaurant called The Office in downtown Prescott. Let me just say three words: Southwest Egg Rolls. Oh my heck. So yummy!

Here is a pic of us downtown. We had to just grab a quick snapshot to remember the day. We are horrible when it comes to taking pictures of just the two of us, and we always seem to get just one shot on our anniversary in the most random of places, just so that we have one.

In honor of our 4 year, here are the 4 biggest things that we have done since we have been married:

1. Have Lincoln.
2. Derick graduated.
3. Move 7 times. Both in state and out of state. We have lived in 3 states.
4. Travel across the country and see Nauvoo, Kirkland, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC, Salt Lake City, New York City, and more.

I love you, Babe!

rough days for little man...

Lincoln has had a rough couple of days.

On Wednesday, he was running down the driveway (which is very sloped) and fell, hitting his forehead and getting a big bump.

Yesterday was especially bad.
1. Was carrying a sippy cup of juice, tripped over something on the floor, fell to the ground and hit eye on sippy cup, leaving a bruise there.
2. For a couple of reasons, we had to move Lincoln's bed into our room for naptime. I guess we put it a little too close to our shelving unit, because we went to see why he wasn't going to sleep after quite a while and he had pulled several things into his bed. One of them was a light bulb, which he broke and cut his hand on.

3. Fell down the stairs.
4. Banged his head again on a table.

Today he smashed his fingers in a door.

I hope that this is all just from being a little boy, and not from inheriting his mom's clutziness. Time will tell, I guess.
