we are moving!!!

Many of you already know this, but we are moving! Some of you are probably thinking, "What in the World? How many times can these guys move?" Well, it's true. We have moved a LOT.

Can you guess where we are going?
Back to Arizona!! Long story short...Derick's job up here didn't work out and he will be starting a new job in AZ. It's funny...none of the job prospects were even there, but then all of a sudden they ALL were! I guess it's where we are meant to be right now.

We are super duper excited to be closer to our families and so many good friends.

We (espcially me) are NOT excited for the weather. I can't catch a break...we are finally getting decent weather that will allow me to let Lincoln play outside. But AZ is going to be too hot and so he still won't get to play outside much and it's his most favorite thing to do. Poor little guy.

Anyway, we are moving down this weekend. We are going to be visiting a bunch of family at first, and after a couple of weeks will probably settle into a place in Mesa or Gilbert.

look at that belly!

The only thing that I can say in Lincoln's defense is that this was after dinner.
Ok, and that he's a baby/toddler.
He looks like an old man that had to unbutton his pants after a big meal. Hilarious.

mens shirts into toddler pajamas

Derick and I were going through and getting rid of some of our clothes. On the flip side, Lincoln needed some new pajamas for spring and summer. I decided to make him some out of Derick's shirts that he was getting rid of.

Exhibit A:

Before
{Shirt that shrunk too much in the dryer and no longer fit}

After
{The sleeves became pants and then I also made a shirt}

Lincoln wore them to bed tonight.

Exhibit B:

Before
{Old Golf Shirt}

After
{pj bottoms}

Exhibit C:

{I don't have a before shot, but the Tshirt basically looked like what I made it into.
I just made it into a smaller shirt, and made shorts to go with it}

Total cost for almost 3 sets of pajamas? FREE. Awesome.
And there is still more clothing to cut up and repurpose.

ice cream

The other day we went to IKEA to look at a couple of things. Lincoln needed some dishes, and we just like going there every few months to get ideas.

At the end of our browsing, I got an ice cream cone. I gave Lincoln a couple of licks, and once we got in the car, it was too hard to share (from front seat to back seat), and even more difficult to get it away from him. So, it was his. He was thrilled to have his first ice cream cone.

A few minutes into our drive, I looked back to see this. Lincoln looking confused. Why? Well, you'll notice that the ice cream is no longer on the cone. It's in his lap. I couldn't help but laugh. Messes just don't make me mad when they are hilarious (ok, that's not always true, but in this case it was).
Lincoln just didn't know what to think....

...but he quickly got over the loss of the ice cream and decided to eat the cone. I think he liked it better anyway. No brain freezes involved. And he ate the entire cone. It's no wonder he's such a chunk. :-)

family pics

As I mentioned before, our friend Jeff took some pictures of us this last weekend when he was here. I think that they turned out super cute, especially for being last-minute with chilly weather and the sun in our faces. Thanks so much, Jeff!

fun weekend with friends

We had such a fun weekend. Our friends, Jeff and Ellie came up from AZ for General Conference and stayed with us. We LOVED having them here. We had a blast eating, playing games, chatting, watching movies, seeing sites, etc.

On Saturday, Jeff and Ellie went to the morning session and then we met them at Temple Square to walk around and see stuff with them.

Our bestie, Jenny, was also in town with her Young Women so we got to see her too (so glad I got to see you, Jenns!) I hadn't seen her in like 2 years, or Ellie in almost a year. I loved it. The three of us used to be practically connected at the hip and were roommates for a while. Good memories.
And actually, we all got married within 6 months. I love you two!

Pretty pic of the SLC temple taken by Jeff. In fact, Jeff and Ellie were like our photographers for the whole weekend and took every single picture in this post! Thanks, guys!

Ellie had a tin Sprite bottle and Lincoln loves bottles. He played with that thing for forever! Now that he is good at walking around, that's just what he wants to do all the time. He doesn't even care if he has stuff to play with when he is outside, as long as he can just walk around. So that's what he did with the Sprite bottle. He just walked around.

All of us in our jammies on Saturday night for movies, games and pizza. Love it.

On Sunday we woke up to snow! Although I hate snow, this time it was fun because J&E don't have snow in AZ so they were super excited. Utah weather is so crazy. It was 65 on Saturday, and 39 on Sunday.

We decided to put Lincoln is his cute little snow suit one more time.

He looks hurt here, but he wasn't. I think the face was more for trying to get up with a giant padded suit on, and for the snow in his face.

My cute boys playing in the snow.

Later in the day it started to snow pretty hard again. Here are Lincoln and Ellie testing it out.

On Monday we went to Bridal Veil Falls. It's so pretty there and there was a lot of water b/c of the snow on the mountains.

All of us. Jeff actually took some family pictures for us and some of Lincoln too. I will have to post those later. Thanks so much, Jeff! Some of you may be thinking that we take family pictures a lot. We do. We like it though. We like having them updated, and having a variety. But we have never really had to pay for many of them. We wouldn't be taking so many if we always had to pay a photog.

That night, Jeff and Ellie treated us to dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory. Yum! Thanks, guys! We had a coupon for all of us to get free French sodas, which are my favorite.

Thanks, you guys for visiting us! We had such a blast and miss you!
