Easter

The day before Easter, we went to our town's annual egg hunt. It's pretty nice because it's very structured, so that you don't have people (parents) making a mad dash to get tons of eggs, leaving others in the dust (without eggs), like what happens in some places I know of (ahem....Utah). They let a small group of kids at a time into the little fenced off area and let them gather as many eggs as they can in a certain amount of time. Parents aren't allowed, but they have helpers. Lincoln loves it.
That night, we colored our eggs at home, which is always fun. Lincoln, just like most kids, loves seeing the eggs change. On Easter, we had fun looking in Easter baskets (Lincoln got a book, Hot Dots, treats and the movie "Robots." Bennett got new baby food bowls and spoons, rice cereal, and a toy), eating a yummy dinner, and doing Easter egg hunts inside, because it was too cold outside! Lincoln doesn't care where the egg hunt is, though. He just loves looking for them!

when we got back...

Richie's spring break from Cornell was during part of our AZ trip, but they wanted to come down to Blacksburg to visit. We told them to go ahead to our house and we met them there when we got back from AZ! It was fun to have them there. Lincoln loves having buddies to play with, so he was excited to have Graham and Isla. We hardly took any pictures! Unfortunately, it was pretty cold, so we didn't get out to do much, but we had fun still. It was fun getting a picture of all 4 Carpenter cousins together. Richie, Krystal, Graham and Isla were also able to go with us to Lincoln's first soccer game. I'll have to post more about the soccer season later. It was less than ideal, but Lincoln looked super cute.

bouncer

Bennett got this musical bouncer/exersaucer from Grammy and Papa for Christmas and is finally getting old enough for it.
oops, he is not in the exersaucer in this pic, but it's cute!
And so is this one.

Arizona trip!

This is going to be an extremely long post! We were in AZ from March 9-19 and got to see lots of family and friends. There were tons that we also didn't get to see. It's always so hard to pack it all in! Next time!

At the Roanoke Airport. It's so small and easy! Lincoln was so excited to fly on the plane, and loved watching the planes through the window. The boys were amazing travelers on this trip. Lincoln is easy to keep entertained now, plus he slept a lot, and Bennett is still young enough that he slept most of the time. Our flight to Tucson was later, so the boys were pretty sleepy, especially with the time difference (3 hours). I think we got to Debbie and Denny's house in St. David around 11 pm, which was 2 am our time!
Highlights from St. David:
*Lincoln was so excited to have so many little buddies to play with! All of the little cousins (Garth, Colt, Ethan, Mikayla, Maylee, Alaya, Kinzie) were there. He especially had a blast playing with Garth and Colt and talks about them all the time.
*Running around outside.
*Such nice weather!
*Fires in the fire pit.
*Digging for worms, which Lincoln wasn't too thrilled about.
*Playing trucks in the sand.
*Swinging on the swings. Lincoln especially loved it when DeeDee would push him.
*Watching Lincoln, Garth, and Colt play in the water on the trampoline in their underwear!
*We went to the Kartchners' (DeeDee's husband's family's house) pond and played. SO MUCH FUN!
*We went over to Thatcher to go to the temple. DawnSheree watched our boys while Derick and I did a session. Grandma Carpenter did the session with us and then went out to lunch with us afterwards. Love her.
*Bennett getting loves from everyone.
*Going to the Tucson Zoo.
*We loved just hanging out and relaxing! Derick and I especially love having adult company after the boys go to bed.
After St. David, we went to the Valley and visited my family. It was fun for Bennett to meet Grandma, Uncle Greg and Aunt Karla, Aunt Christie, Uncle Bradley, Grandpa, and Great Grandma and Grandpa Huish. While we were there, Karla threw a 24th birthday party for Greg. Lincoln loved helping Greg with the pinata. While in the valley, we were also able to eat at Joe's Farm Grill (YUM) and go look at the Gilbert temple.
It was quite a busy and exhausting trip, but it was so much fun! It is always nice to get home, though.
