harvest festival

The other day there was a Harvest Festival at Thanksgiving Point which is a nearby tourist place. There was a giant pumpkin contest. Here we are with the winner, which weighed 1,169 pounds!!! {and there is a canned pumpkin shortage, why?? have you heard of this? people are selling their canned pumpkin on ebay and making a bundle.}

 There was also another little thing going on at one of Derick's co-worker's neighborhoods.

Lincoln got to visit with a camel.

Then Derick rode the mechanical bull. He never wants to do it again.

7-month munchkin

Lincoln is 7 months old! He is getting more fun every day. He is moving around like crazy and just loves to roll around and play with his toys. He also loves:

1. His soccer ball.

2. His fuzzy airplane blanket.

3. Cell phones (thankfully Derick and I both had old ones that he could play with and he doesn't know the difference yet).

4. Rubber duckies (?).

5. Pears.

6. Green beans.

7. Kicking the soccer ball with daddy.

8. Doing anything outside.

9. Being thrown into the love sac.

10. Tags. He will play with the tag on something before he plays with the actual something.

11. Bath time.

12. He has always hated riding in the car. We had to get him a new car seat because of his size and he is up higher in it. He can now see out of the car windows and he loves it.

13. Drinking out of mommy and daddy's cups.

14. Rolling around naked. Diaper changing is an event.

15. Playing peek-a-boo.

16. Singing "If you're happy and you know it...".

17. Being bare foot. He hates having socks and shoes put on. 

18. Watching cars. Actual cars, not the movie.

19. Watching movies/TV (don't worry...he doesn't watch much!).

20. When Derick gets home from work and plays with him. Mom just gets boring after a while.

I love this face. It's like, "Mom, are you really making me do this?"

Then I was able to get his adorable smile.

So Derick just took that trip back to VA for business and to get some of our stuff. One of the things that we still had back there was our love sac. You can buy this travel kit for it which comes with a giant plastic bag. You put it in the bag and then suck all the air out of the love sac to shrink. Well, our plastic bag got a bunch of holes in it and so Derick had to improvise. 

A bunch of duct tape and rope later, this is what he got. 

I can't look at this picture without cracking up. I don't even know what to compare it to.

I am sure happy to have it back though!

new blog

So we accidentally deleted our other blog. I am so sad. Stupid gmail. Derick was going in to delete a gmail account and it was linked to our blog, so it deleted the blog. Did it warn us that it was going to delete the blog? Nope. So dumb. It has been a mess for a while...one email messed up another and then I couldn't change things on our blog, etc. I am pretty mad at gmail right now. There is a way to recover it, but without going into a lot of detail, because of the email mess, I don't have the rights with the email that is working to recover it. So sad! Anyway, I started this new one, so bear with me as I get it all straightened out!
