Sunday was Lincoln's 2nd birthday! I can't believe my little man is 2. We had a small dinner gathering, which I will have to post about later, because I have to get pictures from one of our friends! Until then, I wanted to write some things about Lincoln right now.
We had his 2-year check-up this morning. Here are his stats:
Weight: 38.2 pounds. Off the charts.
Height: 37.5 inches. Also off the charts.
Head: 20 inches, which they didn't give me a percentile for, but from what I'm reading it's at the top.
- He wears size 3T pants, 4T-5T shirts and size 9 shoes! He's huge!
- His favorite primary song is "I Am a Child of God." He asks to sing it every single night.
- He is lately obsessed with garbage trucks. Any type of big truck that he sees is a "bage" truck. Fridays are a hit around here because it's trash day.
- He finally loves going to nursery. He was so sad yesterday because we had stake conference and he wasn't able to go. Bummer for his bday!
- He loves to read books. Lately his favorites include: "Little Blue Truck," "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," "Freight Train," "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" and "If You Give a Moose a Muffin," among many others. He's now starting to show interest in longer, more detailed books, so it will be fun to try lots of new ones from the library!
- He sleeps in a big boy bed now! We got him a twin bed (after searching for weeks...the demand here with the university his high, so it took forever to find one) and he does great. It has been a pretty easy transition.
- He is really starting to speak clearly. He has always used lots of words, but some of them are now pronounced very well. He is also putting some sentences together.
- He will get out of bed after naps and nighttime, and say, "Mom, where are you?" I love it...it's so funny.
- He knows his colors.
- He can count to ten, but always leaves out number seven!
- He is obsessed with basketball. Playing Bball is one of the first things he wants to do each day. He went to sleep with the new soft basketball that our friends Bryce and Neely gave him.
- He will say "poop pants" whenever he poops, no matter where we are or who is around. He even says it when he toots sometimes. He started to say it yesterday during stake conference. I took him and made a mad dash for the door!
- He messes up piles of laundry that I just folded. Every time. I have had to start folding when he's asleep.
- He loves talking on Skype to family members.
- He loves to wrestle. He can practically beat me up.
- There's nothing better than when he says, "Luh-Loo {love you} Mama" when I put him to bed at night.
- He thought it was the funniest thing when he saw a kid use the fireman pole at the playground the other day and he had to do it too.
- He loves going to the library.
- He loves going to the "choo-choo" train park, as he calls it. We have a huge, amazing public park that has a train caboose.
- When he had his really bad cough, the prescription that he had to take turned his teeth yellow. We brushed them with baking soda (which is so nasty!) and now he is scared to brush his teeth. Every time we do, he says, "No yucky brush teeth." I have to tell him that we are going to use the yummy toothpaste.
- His favorite movies are Cars and Cars 2. He could watch those every day if we'd let him. He also loves The Lion King.
- He has quite the throwing arm.
- He can't get enough of playing with trains, tractors and cars.
- He loves doing puzzles and is so good at them.
- He loves babies.
- He understands that Derick is in school, and whenever Derick leaves, Lincoln says, "Daddy go school." He gets so excited whenever we have to go and pick his daddy up.
- His favorite meal is still rice and beans.
- Some of the funny things that he says include:
"Eww, gross!"
"I Lub (Love)_____." He says he loves lots of different things.
"That's better." He uses this when any kind of owie or discomfort feels better.
"Pee-yew!"
"Handsome Dude!" when he gets dressed.
"Nakee (naked) man!" when he is partially or fully naked.
- He is getting better at sharing, but we have had to work hard on that one.
- He can name off all of the animals in our books, and do all of the sounds too. It's hilarious.
- He has quite the memory. If you tell him that you are going to do something or give him something, you better do it because he won't let you forget.
- He loves his blankets. He used to use one, then it was two, and now it's three. Thankfully he's okay most of the time with at least one, but if he sees the others, he's holding on.
- He can drink more than any kid I've ever seen. He will down an entire cup of milk or juice in 5 minutes and does it several times a day. He has rather large diapers throughout the day and wakes up with wet pajamas quite often.
- He blew out his own birthday candles!
- He is very polite and uses please and thank you all the time.
- He loves to play "Get You" all day long. He will look up at you and giggle and say, "I'm Get You!" and wait for you to chase him.
- When he says his own name is sounds kind of like "Lee-nen."

Happy Belated Birthday Mr. Linky Poo!! He is such a cute boy!!!
Happy Birthday to Lincoln! He is such a cutie! And he wears pretty much the same sizes as Cori who just turned 4, haha. Love it! Hope you guys are enjoying VA and your new house!
I cannot believe how huge he is!!! That's pretty unbelievable!!!
Our kids can thank their dads for their head sizes! Mikayla's head is the same size and she's WAY shorter and a wee bit lighter than Lincoln. :) Let's hope it means there's lots of brains in there, right?!?
