like fingernails on a chalkboard

Lincoln has been grinding his teeth. I hate the sound. From what I have been reading online, it's normal and he will just grow out of it. It's probably because he's teething. Do any of you have kids that did this? Was there anything you did to help them stop? I try to lightly pat Lincoln's mouth each time, but it's so frequent now. Plus, I don't think he really understands why I am doing it, so it doesn't help.
Anyone?

LOL Cheryl! I didn't have the URL to your blog so I haven't read it in forever! But I love your post about your new calling. Jake and I taught the same age group in 2009 and... I went home crying from church every Sunday. It got really hard with Emmett once he started walking because he became a huge distraction to the kids who were already really rowdy. Our bishop let us put Emmett in nursery early. And then he hated that and was scared, but we managed, and then we got put in nursery for 2010 and it all worked out. I really loved the kids and looking back, I really should have just relaxed and not worried so much about everything I guess. It will be fun for you guys, though! Good luck with everything!

Maverick does it too and I just squeeze his cute cheeks and kiss him because it seems to distract him but I HATE The sound too!

I wish I had advice for you! Cambrie is only barely going to have seven teeth by the time she is 18 months (next week), so I don't think she even has enough teeth to grind.

Good luck with the new callings! I got my first calling in more than two years too, recently. Relief Society pianist. Yay for a simple and fun job!

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. I just to squeeze his lip together into a fishy face whenever he did it, but as soon as I stopped, he'd start right up again. I finally decided just to ignore it and hoped it passed soon. I would do things like turn the radio up in the car, or set him down and go into another room, something like that. It's awful though. Good luck!
