For FHE the Monday before Christmas, we made gingerbread (graham cracker) houses with my family. My brother, Greg, and his girlfriend, Karla, bought all the stuff for all of us to make them.
Us with our finished house. Derick got super into this project. I loved it.
The back of our house, complete with a tree made from green Twizzlers.
The front. Derick had the idea of using the cinnamon grahams to make roof shingles.
My mom and her house.
Greg. He decided to get creative and make a tall one with a bell tower.
The bell tower, complete with a gum drop bell.
We didn't use royal icing (the kind that gets hard). We just used regular icing from the tub. So, the houses didn't hold quite as well as they could have. Poor Christie had such a hard time and her's kept breaking. Finally we told her to just stack a bunch of grahams, frost them, and decorate.
Karla. Her house was pretty good. She does hair and after doing the houses, she gave Derick and I haircuts. They were seriously some of the best we have ever had!
Bradley with his creation. I think he wins the height award.
