V. Tech vs. G. Tech

Last night, Derick and I were able to go to the Virginia Tech football season opener. Derick was invited to sit in the President's suite, and it was a really fun experience! The suite is huge. There is a huge area for lounging, and then there are the seats to watch the game. I also can't forget to mention the buffet...we were fed well. I had pork loin, mac n cheese, fruit, etc. It was nice to be in the enclosed space that was a bit more quiet (Lane Stadium is one of the loudest stadiums you will ever visit) and to have such a great view of the game!!! It was also fun for us to have a date night. We left the game a little bit early because it was getting late. Our friends (who had to work this morning) were watching Lincoln. Plus, although he was being good, Lincoln wasn't going to sleep. So we decided to leave a little early and miss all of the crazy traffic (had we stayed, we wouldn't have gotten home til like 1 am or later). The sad part of the story is that because we left early, we missed the first-ever overtime in Lane Stadium! EVER! Crazy. Oh, well. Virginia Tech ended up winning in overtime! Yeah!!

It's funny because Sam and I watched some of that game on TV, and I wondered if you guys were there. And you were. Looks like it was fun!
