Lincoln built these "robots." I think they look like a city!
If you recall a picture of Lincoln with "swords" in his pants, then this will look familiar. Bennett had to have them too.
We bought a little blow-up pool for the boys. It has been used many times already.
The 4th of July:
I love this holiday. Next to Christmas, it's my favorite! We got donuts for breakfast. Then we went to the park to play because the weather was perfect. Then we went blueberry picking! Then it was lunch and naptime. In the afternoon we went to the town parade. We had our own little BBQ for dinner, complete with a flag cake (yum) and then did our own little fireworks show at home. Later that night, we went to the town fireworks. It was such a busy day, but was so fun!
I took the boys to see the Lego Movie in the theater. It was part of the summer $1 movie series. Thankfully we went with some friends, the Bopps, because Lincoln was able to stay with them when I had to take Bennett out.We split up the kids to do one-on-one time one night. Derick took Lincoln to see Planes: Fire and Rescue. Bennett and I just ran some errands. Then we all met up and used a gift card that we had to eat dinner at Red Lobster.
One rainy Saturday, our Children's Museum was having free day. It's normally $5 per person, regardless of age, so we had never been before, because $20 is a little steep for what they have there. They boys had a ton of fun.
All Bennett wanted to do was knock over that tower.
Finally, something is being done with the deck!
Lincoln did a "Busy Beaver Camp" with his friend, Bradie, every morning for a week. They kept the kids entertained with songs, activities, treasure hunts, and even a water day. On the last day, they had a singing time that the parents could go to. Lincoln wasn't into it at all! While Lincoln did his camp, I did swim lessons with Bennett. He fussed each morning getting into the water, but after a couple of minutes he loved it. It was nice to have that time with him.
We've gone to campus a few times to the duck pond and to watch Derick play football on the drill field.
That smile...
33 weeks
We got to go sit in a suite at a Salem Red Sox game.
We did another one-on-one night with the kids. I took Lincoln to see How to Train Your Dragon 2 at the Lyric theater (that's a lot of movies this month!) and Derick took Lincoln to Dick's and to the duck pond.
