TechNite

TechNite is the biggest event of the year for Derick at work. They hold a dinner and awards program for 600-700 people (including some pretty prominent people). Even though Derick is busy most of the night, it's fun for me to get dressed up and go with him to see all of his (and his team's) hard work. This year was their best event yet. They did a fantastic job. It's held at the Hotel Roanoke, so we like to get a babysitter for the boys in our hotel room and then stay the night there after we are done with the festivities and make a fun weekend out of it. We got an extra hotel room for the Allens and they came and watched the boys for us. They were life savers! The next morning, we all ate a delicious breakfast at the hotel and spent a little time at the mall (it was raining) together.

Derick and I didn't get a good picture of us together, unfortunately. Bennett was being a pill and needed me in the hotel room after the banquet, and Derick was so busy. By the time things slowed down for him at the after party, we didn't have the best photo ops, but oh, well. A couple of things about the after party: 1. It was at the Science Museum. 2. They had tons of delicious chocolate goodies to eat. 3. They accidentally set off the fire alarm and we had to evacuate. Ha!

The next day, after Matt, Katherine and Mia went home, we met up with our friend, Jessi, who we know from SVU. It was so good to see her after 4 years! Her little boy, Wes, is adorable. We went to eat a late lunch at Corned Beef and Co. (one of our fav places) and then went to the science museum. After that, we headed home. We were exhausted! It was all a lot of fun!
