Christmas Day, 2013

I love Christmas morning! Plus, I have to say, there is nothing better than sharing it with your own kids. I think Derick and I get more excited than the boys do. This year, we were so excited to have Bennett enjoy it with Lincoln.

Lincoln made it down the stairs first. He doesn't look excited, but he was. He just takes a minute to process things. He inspected all of the packages looking for his name. Then he went back over to wait for Bennett to come down. The poor kid already had to wait a while. Bennett sleeps in about 1.5 hours later than Lincoln on a daily basis.

Then the festivities began. We opened a few gifts. Then we ate breakfast. They boys were hungry. Usually, when we wake up, breakfast is all they can think about. We had cinnamon rolls, eggs, and bacon. Yum. Then it was back to the fun.

From Santa, Lincoln got a remote control car , called a morphibian, that can drive on land or water, and a marble works set. He also got lots of other books, clothes, movies, little toys, etc.

Bennett got a "marble" toy also (since Lincoln did), and a hammer toy, among other things.

I wish that I would have gotten a good picture of the boys with all of their loot, but I'm never good at taking those. I'm not good at taking pictures on Christmas Day, period! I get too caught up in the action.

I got new pots and pans (hallelujah), and Derick made me a giant framed quote to hang on the wall. The boys gave me new spatulas and a scarf. It was too cute to hear about how insistent Lincoln was on getting this particular scarf for me. And it was cute!

Derick got new shoes, jeans, books, etc. Lincoln picked out a tractor to give to Daddy. So adorable. Derick also got a Virginia Tech hat. When Bennett saw it, he was immediately obsessed and wanted to wear it constantly.

Oh, and Richie, Krystal, Graham and Isla sent us this awesome plasma car for my family's gift exchange. We will have tons of fun with that!

It was such a fun day to just be together with our little family, just how we like it! I loved watching the boys get excited for each other and enjoy the day together.
