Lincoln's 4th birthday

Lincoln turned 4 on February 26! We asked Lincoln if he wanted to have a party or to do something fun as a family this year. He chose doing something fun as a family (woo-hoo!). He said that he wanted to go to a museum for his birthday. We decided to take him to D.C. (one of his favorite places, because of the museums). We couldn't do it until a couple of days after his birthday, though, so we had a small family party at home on his actual big day. He has been REALLY into dinosaurs, so I decorated appropriately. He woke up to find a new bike waiting for him. His expression was priceless, once he actually noticed the bike. He was so distracted by the dinosaurs on the table at first that he didn't notice! He was then so excited. He then got to go to preschool and take cupcakes for everyone. For lunch, we met up with Daddy and went to Macado's for lunch, which was Lincoln's request. They have so much decor to look at and even had a T-rex (perfect!). That evening we had dinner, opened gifts, Skyped with Grammy and Papa, and had ice cream cake. It was a fun day and we love our 4-year-old so much! He is such a smart, loving boy. He's a good big brother to Bennett and is so creative.

On the 28th, we headed to D.C. for Lincoln's birthday trip. Our friends, the Hadfields, were able to meet up with us for the weekend! We were so excited to spend time with them. We all met at the Smithsonian Air and Space museum in Chantilly, VA (which is better than the one in DC!) and enjoyed time there. Lincoln was in heaven seeing all of the airplanes and the space shuttle, and getting to have friends there with him! We enjoyed lots of yummy food, hung out at the hotel, went downtown to see a few sights, went to the botanical gardens, and went to the zoo. When we went downtown, we witnessed a car accident right next to where we had just parked. Thankfully it wasn't us! Derick and Matt went out to do their duty and talk to the police. The last picture of Bennett getting stuck between the bed and night stand at the hotel just cracks me up. It was a freezing cold weekend, but it was still lots of fun.
