We went to do the Home Depot kids' workshop on the 5th, before General Conference. In October, they always have fire trucks, a pumpkin patch, a cool thing to build, and prizes. It's always a fun time for the boys. And it's all free.
Notice Bennett in the background eating his sock.
Lincoln's first day of Preschool! The Blacksburg High School does a little "play school" 3 days a week. Lincoln was so excited. 10/9/13.
Bennett was sure going to miss him on those days!
Trying on a wig from our costume box.
Good shot of those huge front teeth!
10-19-13. We went to Sinkland Farms to their fall festival. It was so much fun. We got to see tons of farm animals, play in the hay maze, ride a tractor/hay ride to the pumpkin patch, search for our perfect pumpkins, and shoot potato guns.
Bennett makes a mad dash to the fridge every time it opens.
Playing in the leaves.
We were getting lunch at Sam's Club, and Lincoln insisted on ordering his hot dog by himself. I was dying at how cute it was to watch. He did great!
Playing at the park with friends.
10/24/13--Time to carve pumpkins!
10/25/13-10/27/13. Derick had to go on the Youth temple trip, so we decided to all go since we hadn't been in a while. Our friends, the Kents, stayed in the same hotel as us, and we took turns watching the kids while each couple did a session. It worked out nicely, but by the time 4:00 came when we were done, the boys were ready to get out of the hotel! We headed over to the temple grounds to let the boys see the temple and visitors' center. It was a fun day.
The next day, we went into D.C. to see a couple of the museums. Lincoln LOVES museums, so he was sure excited. We went to the Museum of Natural History, and the Air and Space Museum. We had a blast. Afterwards, we stopped by to see my long-time friends, Ryan and Nicolette and their two boys, Gabe and Will. Lincoln was so excited to play with them, too.
Bennett was so excited about pushing this walker.
Making and decorating Halloween cookies!
10/30/13--Ward Halloween Party
Halloween! We had our traditional pot of chili for dinner. YUM. Then we went trick-or-treating to about a dozen houses or so. Lincoln already had tons of candy from the ward party and from preschool, so we didn't think we need much more! Lincoln did a great job trick-or-treating. Derick and I were also excited because this was the first house that we have lived in where we got trick-or-treaters.
Lincoln was excited to help pass out candy.
Whew! And that was our October!
