About a month ago (June 9th....man, I'm behind!), we headed about 1/2 hour from home to hike to the Cascades (waterfall). We hadn't necessarily planned on hiking the entire 2.5 miles each way (5 total) so we weren't totally prepared (not enough water and were in flip flops). But we did it. And it was awesome. The scenery was gorgeous and was we were hiking in shade for most of the time, so even though it was a warm day, it was nice. Lincoln loved to stop and throw rocks into the river, and he was even excited to get in the freezing water! We had a lot of fun, but I don't know if I'll do the entire hike again while I'm pregnant! Luckily, there are lots of cool spots to hang out by the river and have a picnic that are near the beginning of the hike, so we plan to go back soon.
How Lincoln spent much of the hike:
The waterfall:
Thinking about going in...
Getting closer...
Going for it...
The face that tells you that the water is freezing:
Happy he did it...
Whew!
One the hike back to the car, Lincoln was so tired that he just fell asleep in Derick's arms. Poor little dude.
Thankfully we took a different path back, and it looked like this:
Nice and flat the whole way.
Fun day!!
